Abstract: In order to improve the flow properties, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers having molecular weights of greater than 30,000 at temperatures of 150 to 230 DEG C and shear rates of from 10 to 2,000 sec are treated for from 0.1 to 20 minutes with alcohols, monoamines and/or diamines in amounts of from 0.01 to 10% by weight, based on the weight of the polyurethane elastomers.
