Abstract: Finely divided magnetic particles in a polymeric binding medium are brought as a layer on the carrier, followed by drying and hardening. Mixture consists of (A) 65-95% by weight of a copolymer with monomeric structure consisting of (1) 40-80% alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbons (8-10C atoms), (2) 0-55% acryl- and methacryl esters of alcohols of 1-12 C atoms. (3) 0-15% alkenic unsatd. acids (3-5 C atoms) and/or 0-20% unsatd. alcoholic monomers. (4) 5-40% alkoxy N-methylolamides of acrylic and methacrylic acids, (5) 0-30% of another unsatd. monomer with (B) 35-5% by wt. of a hardening polyepoxy compound, and as magnetic pigment gamma-iron (III)-oxide treated with a C14-C18 alkyl aryl sulphonic acid or salt. Layer deposited on the non-magnetic metal carrier by a centrifugal process.
