Abstract: NOVEL HYDROXYMETHYLHYDRAZIDE DERIVATIVES OF ALIPHATIC ACIDS AS HYDROPHOBIC MATERIALS FOR COATING TEXTILE FIBRES. G2A. Have general formula:- where R is 15-21C aliphatic group optically unsaturated or bearing OH substituents and R1 is H or CH2OH. Are prepared from RCONHNH2 (which may be derived from a pure acid or a mixture of R=15-21C acids) and HCHOat pH 7-10, 20-80 degrees C for 1-3 hours. Excess HCHO produces (I, R1=CH2OH).
