Abstract: of the disclosure: A process for the dimerization and/or oligomerization of cyclic aliphatic ethers of the general formula or , where R is saturated, straight-chain aliphatic C2-C8-alkylene, R1 is saturated, straight-chain aliphatic C2-C4-alkylene and R2 is R1 or (R1-O-)nR1, where n is from 1 to 8, by means of an organic peroxide at from 120 to 200.degree.C under a protective gas atmosphere. The products obtained may be used as solvents and complexing agents for specific purposes.
