Abstract: Square-wave laser light pulses are provided by a laser diode LD fed by a current pulse generator S1 which comprises a timing pulse generator TI and a power stage PS, followed by a single-pole driver stage TS of high current having a rise time of a few nanoseconds for the laser diode which is connected to a capacitative battery C. Overshoot of the pulse flanks is attenuated by resistors Rd and diode D. Pulse width may be adjusted by element RC. A V-MOS field effect transistor is exemplified for power driver TS.
