    Abstract: A termite bait station for installation in the ground includes a tubular outer housing and a tubular inner bait cartridge inserted into the housing, each having circumferentially elongate apertures therethrough to allow termites to access bait in the cartridge. Each aperture in the cartridge is disposed between a pair of spaced, parallel ribs that extend in the circumferential direction. The ribs reduce the radial gap that must be traversed by a termite passing from the outer housing to the bait cartridge. The ribs also form circumferentially extending channels for producing a channeling effect tending to lead termites into the apertures in the cartridge.

Dispositivo para supervisar y/o controlar la actividad de las termitas, caracterizado porque comprende: una carcasa exterior tubular adaptada para ser implantada en el suelo, teniendo la carcasa exterior un extremo abierto superior y teniendo una pluralidad de aberturas alargadas circunferencialmente a través de una pared lateral tubular de la carcasa exterior para el paso de las termitas a través de los orificios a un interior de la carcasa exterior; un cartucho de cebo tubular que se puede insertar de forma deslizable dentro y que puede separarse de la carcasa exterior a través de su extremo abierto superior, estando adaptado el cartucho de cebo para contener en el interior una cantidad de material comestible para las termitas, teniendo el cartucho de cebo una pluralidad de aberturas alargadas circunferencialmente a través de una pared lateral tubular del cartucho de cebo para el paso de las termitas a través de las aberturas, estando al menos una de las aberturas al menos parcialmentealineada con al menos algunos de los orificios en la carcasa exterior, cuando el cartucho del cebo está instalado en la carcasa exterior, de forma que las termitas pueden acceder al material comestible para las termitas haciéndolas pasar a través de los orificios y las aberturas; y estando dispuesta cada abertura alargada circunferencialmente en el cartucho del cebo entre una pareja opuesta de nervaduras que se extienden circunferencialmente, espaciadas longitudinalmente, que se proyectan radialmente hacia fuera más allá de una superficie exterior tubular del cartucho del cebo hacia una superficie interior de la carcasa exterior para reducir un intersticio que debe ser atravesado por una termita que pasa desde la carcasa exterior al cartucho del cebo, formando cada pareja de nervaduras opuestas un canal que se extiende circunferencialmente, que está abierto en los extremos opuestos del canal, incluso cuando las nervaduras hacen tope con la superficie interior de la carcasa exterior, por loque las termitas son guiadas circunferencialmente por los canales en las aberturas asociadas en el cartucho de cebo.
