    Abstract: Se describe un proceso para preparar polimeros por polimerización controlada por radicales libres, en donde la polimerización de uno o más monómeros polimerizables por radicales libres de la fórmula general (I) (ver Fórmula) donde R1, R2, R3 son cada uno H, alquilo de C1-C4, R4 es C (=O) OR5 , C (=O) NHR15, C (=O) NR5R6, OC (=O) CH3, C (=O) OH, CN, arilo, hetarilo, C (=O) OR5OH, C (=O) OR5Si (OR5)3, halógeno, NHC (O) H, P (=O) (OR7)2, (ver Fórmula) R5 es alquilo de C1-C20, R15 es alquilo de C1-C20, R6 es alquilo de C1-C20, R7 es H, alquilo de C1-C20, en presencia de a., uno o más catalizadores comprende Cu en forma de Cu(0), Cu(I), Cu(II) o mezclas de los mismos, b. uno o más iniciadores seleccionados del grupo que consiste de haluros orgánicos o pseudohaluros, c. uno o más ligandos, d. opcionalmente uno o más solventes, e. opcionalmente una o más sales de haluro inorgánico, y comprende las etapas de i) adición del catalizador a., ii) opcionalmente, adición de monómeros de la fórmula general (I), iii) opcionalmente, adición del solvente d., iv) adición del ligando c., y) adición del iniciador b., vi) adición de monómeros de la fórmula general (I), vii) opcionalmente, adición de las sales de haluro inorgánico e., con la condición de que la adición de al menos parte de los monómeros de la fórmula general (I) se lleve a cabo inmediatamente antes o poco después de la última de las etapas de i), iv) y v).
