    Abstract: La presente invención se refiere a un método para formar una microestructura en relieve de superficie, especialmente una imagen ópticamente variable (un dispositivo ópticamente variable) sobre un sustrato de billete de polímero que comprende los pasos de: A) proporcionar un substrato de billete de polímero que sea un sustrato opaco que permita la transmisión de luz UV y que tenga un espesor de 12 micrómetros a 300 micrómetros; B) aplicar una composición curable que comprende al menos un fotoiniciador que se absorbe en la región UV-A y, además, cerca del intervalo de VIS, a por lo menos una porción del lado frontal del substrato de billete de polímero; C) poner en contacto por lo menos una porción de la composición curable con la microestructura en relieve de superficie; D) curar la composición mediante el uso de por lo menos una lámpara de UV que tiene picos de emisión en el intervalo UV-A y cerca del intervalo VIS, que está dispuesta en el lado posterior del substrato de billete de polímero. Las microestructuras en relieve de superficie, tales como hologramas, se pueden replicar rápidamente y con exactitud en un sustrato de papel usando el método de la presente invención.
