Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a particular, generically defined copolymer for stabilization of a peroxidic compound against breakdown. The present invention further relates to a particular embodiment of the copolymer, namely a copolymer comprising repeat units derived from N-vinylpyrrolidone (or from N-vinyl-2-caprolactam) and at least one comonomer which is selected from the group consisting of vinylphosphonic acid, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid and combinations of these monomers.

Abstract: A polymer having the following monomers in polymerized form (in weight %): A) 49-60% of a first monomer which is selected from the group consisting of methyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, ethyl methacrylate, C3-alkyl acrylate, C3-alkyl methacrylate, C4-alkyl acrylate, C4-alkyl methacrylate and mixtures thereof, B) 30-40% methacrylic acid, C) 4-15% acrylic acid, and D) 0.02-0.30% of a crosslinking agent having at least two allyl moieties, wherein the sum of the amounts of monomers A to D is 100%. A hair styling composition containing the polymer and use of the polymer or of the hair styling composition for styling hair also are disclosed.

Abstract: Process for preparing polymers comprising S-vinylthioalkanol as monomer by radical polymerization, the polymerization being carried out in aqueous solution, with the proviso that no N-vinylpyrrolidone as monomer is used for preparing the polymers, and also polymers prepared by such processes. Abstract: Described is an di(alkyl-glycoside) sulfomethylsuccinate having the formula R1—O—Sn—R2—Sn—O—R1 wherein R1 is an alkyl radical having 6 to 30 carbon atoms, S is a monosaccharide moiety, and R2 is a sulfomethylsuccinate moiety. Furthermore, described is a process for making this di(alkyl-glycoside) sulfomethylsuccinate and to an di(alkyl-glycoside) itaconate which is a useful intermediate for use in this process. Also described is a cosmetic composition comprising the alkyl glycoside sulfomethylsuccinate.

Abstract: An agrochemical composition comprising (i) an agrochemical active ingredient; and (ii) a graft polymer comprising (A) a polymer backbone as a graft base, wherein said polymer backbone is obtainable by polymerization of at least one alkylene oxide selected from the group of C2- to C10-alkylene oxides, preferably C2- to C5-alkylene oxides, such as ethylene oxide, 1,2-propylene oxide, 1,2-butylene oxide, 2,3-butylene oxide, 1,2-pentene oxide or 2,3-pentene oxide; and optionally at least one polyol selected from the group of C2- to C14-polyols or at least one polyamine selected from the group of C2- to C14-polyamines; and (B) polymeric sidechains grafted onto the polymer backbone (A), wherein said polymeric sidechains (B) are obtainable by polymerization of monomers comprising at least one vinyl ester monomer (B1) in the presence of the polymer backbone (A). It was found that the graft polymer of the inventive composition is suitable as a dispersant for pesticides in agrochemical compositions. Moreover, the graft polymer typically exhibits a suitably high degree of biodegradability.
