Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polymer comprising repeating units derived from at least three different monomers, all of which are acrylic esters, methacrylic esters, acrylamides or methacrylamides, wherein this polymer has a calculated glass transition temperature of 29 to 44°C. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a composition suitable for use as a cosmetic formulation, wherein this composition comprises the said polymer, water and one or more further cosmetically acceptable ingredients. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of the said polymer or of the said composition for forming a film on human or animal hair or for styling human or animal hair.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for making an extract of Linum usitatissimum seeds. Furthermore, it relates to the extract itself and to a cosmetic composition comprising this extract. Furthermore, it relates to the use of this extract or of the cosmetic composition comprising this extract for hair styling or for conditioning or for protection against UV radiation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium aerogel particles comprising an alginate, as well as the cosmetic use of a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium aerogel particles comprising an alginate, for treating the skin.
Abstract:
The present invention deals with a copolymer for rheological or cosmetic compositions, a process of making it, a composition thereof and a method of producing said composition. Also within the scope of the invention are selected uses of either the copolymer or the com- position thereof. Saidcopolymer comprises a) a first acrylic ester as monomer A, said monomer A being a branched acrylic ester; b) at least one further acrylic ester as monomer B, said monomer B being a linear acrylic ester; c) a cyclic N-vinyl amide as monomer C; d) at least one compound comprising a radically polymerizable α.β-ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one cationic and/or cationogenic moiety said compound being monomer D; e) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid as monomer E; with the monomer B in its polymerized form having a glass transition temperature of 24 °C or lower and making at most one third of the weight amount of monomer A.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for making a copolymer comprising polymerizing the monomers in a solution comprising the monomers and a solvent, wherein the solvent comprises water and an alcohol. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the copolymer obtainable by this method ("the copolymer according to the present invention") and to the use of the copolymer according to the present invention for styling or for fixing human hair. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of a more generally defined copolymer for styling or for fixing human hair, and for providing high gloss to the hair that is styled or fixed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a new polymer, a process for making it and its use as thickening agent (also called thickener). The polymer comprises repeating units derived from acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid, repeating units derived from a monomer which is, in a wider sense, an ethoxylated or propoxylated fatty alcohol substituted with a hydrophobic moiety, repeating units derived from vinyl pyrrolidone and repeating units derived from 1-vinyl imidazole.
