Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction vessel having high resistance to a thermal cycle (high resistance to long time embrittlement, carburization, metal dusting) and capable of reducing undesired catalysis effects, and to provide a method for a serial partial dehydrogenation of hydrocarbon by a heterogeneous catalyst with using the reaction vessel.SOLUTION: In a catalytic dehydrogenation of a hydrocarbon such as propane to an unsaturated hydrocarbon such as propene, a reaction vessel of which an inner surface of a reaction chamber consists of steel containing Cr: 18 to 30 mass%, Ni: 9 to 37 mass%, Si: 1 to 4 mass% and the like and an outer surface at opposite side of the reaction chamber is made from a composite material metal-plated on a steel containing Cr: 15 to 20 mass%, Ni: 6 to 18 mass%, Si: 0 to 0.8 mass% and the like directly or through layers of copper, nickel or copper and nickel is used. A method of a serial partial dehydrogenation of hydrocarbon by a heterogeneous catalyst with using the reaction vessel is provided.
Abstract:
A starting gas stream comprising hydrocarbon is continuously fed to reaction chamber enclosed by shell and having orifice(s) (I) for feeding starting gas stream and orifice(s) (II) for withdrawing product gas stream(s). The starting gas stream is passed through catalyst bed disposed in the chamber and with generation of product gas, and is partially dehydrogenated. The product gas stream is continuously withdrawn from the chamber. The shell surface is manufactured from steel of preset chemical composition. A starting gas stream comprising hydrocarbon to be dehydrogenated is continuously fed to the reaction chamber reaction chamber which is enclosed by a shell which is in contact with the reaction chamber and has orifice(s) (I) for feeding starting gas stream into the reaction chamber and orifice(s) (II) for withdrawing product gas stream(s) from the reaction chamber. The starting gas stream is passed through catalyst bed disposed in the reaction chamber and, with generation of a product gas comprising dehydrogenated hydrocarbon(s), unconverted hydrocarbon to be dehydrogenated and molecular hydrogen and/or steam, and is dehydrogenated partially in an oxidative or non-oxidative manner to dehydrogenated hydrocarbon(s). The product gas stream is continuously withdrawn from the reaction chamber. The surface of the shell in contact with the reaction chamber is manufactured in a layer thickness (d) of 1 mm or more, from a steel (S) which has chromium (in wt.%) (18-30), nickel (9-36), silicon (1-3), nitrogen (0.1-0.3), carbon (0-0.15), manganese (0-4), aluminum (0-4), phosphorus (0-0.05), sulfur (0-0.05), and rare earth metals (0-0.1), and remainder containing iron and impurities. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) shell, which encloses an interior (I) and has orifice (I) for feeding gas stream into interior (I) and orifice (II) for withdrawing a gas stream fed to the interior (I) via orifice (I) from the interior (I). The surface of the shell in contact with the interior (I) is manufactured in a layer thickness (d) of 1 mm or more from steel (S); and (2) use of shell for carrying out heterogeneously catalyzed partial dehydrogenation of hydrocarbon.
