Abstract: Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Acrylsäure aus Essigsäure und Formaldehyd, umfassend (a) Bereitstellen eines Stoffstroms S1 umfassend Essigsäure und Formaldehyd, wobei das molare Verhältnis von Essigsäure zu Formaldehyd im Stoffstrom S1 im Bereich von 0,5:1 bis 2:1 liegt; (b) Inkontaktbringen des Stoffstroms S1 mit einem Aldolkondensationskatalysator enthaltend Vanadium, Phosphor und Sauerstoff unter Erhalt eines Stoffstroms S2 enthaltend Acrylsäure, wobei in (b) die Raumgeschwindigkeit WHSV im Bereich von 0,35 bis 7,0 kg/kg/h liegt.
