    Abstract: A process is disclosed for producing polyurethane-polyisocyanurate-fiber composite parts, wherein a composition comprising polyisocyanate, a mixture obtainable by introducing an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt into a compound R—NH—CO—R′ containing urethane groups, with R′ being not hydrogen and/or not COR″, a compound containing one or more epoxide groups, polyetherol having an average functionality of 1.8 to 5.0 and a hydroxyl number of 200 to 500, a chain extender, fibrous reinforcing agents and optionally further additives form a reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is applied to the fibrous reinforcing agent and caused to react to form the polyurethane-polyisocyanurate-fiber composite part. Further disclosed is a polyurethane-polyisocyanurate-fiber composite part producible by such a process, and also the use of a polyurethane-polyisocyanurate-fiber composite part as a bodywork component of vehicles, such as bumpers, fenders or roof parts, or as structural or semistructural components for vehicles or wind turbines.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of a polyurethane reinforced composite including mixing (A) a Polyisocyanate component including di- or Polyisocyanates (a) and (B) a polyol component including compounds having at least two groups reactive toward isocyanates (b), catalyst (c) and optionally further additives, to form a reaction mixture, contacting the reaction mixture with the reinforcing material at temperatures of less than 100° C. and curing the reaction mixture at temperatures of more than 100° C. to form a polyurethane reinforced composite. The catalyst (c) includes microencapsulated polyurethane catalyst which includes a capsule core, containing polyurethane catalyst, and an acrylic copolymer capsule shell. An average particle size D(0,5) of the microcapsules is 1 to 50 μm. The invention further relates to a polyurethane reinforced composite obtainable by a process according to the invention.

    Abstract: Polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compounds and processes for preparing polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compounds are disclosed herein. A process includes mixing component (a) polyisocyanate with component (b) a mixture obtainable by introducing an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt into a compound R—NH—CO—R containing urethane groups, where R is not hydrogen and is not COR, component (c) compounds containing one or more epoxide groups, component (d) one or more compounds having at least two isocyanate-reactive groups, comprising compounds having NH2 and/or primary OH groups, and component (e) optionally fillers and other additives, to form a reaction mixture, and reacting the reaction mixture to form the polyurethane-polyisocyanurate compound, wherein the molar amount of alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal ions in the reaction mixture per mole of urethane group in component (b) is 0.0001 to 3.5 and the isocyanate index is greater than 150. Use of polyurethane-polyisocyanate compounds for producing vehicle parts is also disclosed.
