Abstract: The invention relates to the use of branched polyesters that can be obtained by polycondensing citric acid using at least one polyalcohol and optionally using a polycarboxylic acid component as an additive in dish soaps cleaning agents detergents or a formulation for water treatment and mixtures containing such branched polyesters. The invention further relates to the use of hydrophobically modified branched polyesters and the method for cleaning washing or water treatment using such branched polyesters.
