Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing superabsorbent polymer particles, comprising polymerization of a monomer solution, drying the formed polymer gel, grinding the dried polymer gel, classifying and thermally surface post-crosslinking the polymer particles, wherein the monomer solution comprises a chelating agent and an aluminum salt.
