Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for removing salts from an alkanolic reaction mixture, which results during the production of alkoxycarbonyl amino triazines, contains at least one alkoxycarbonyl aminotriazine, at least one cyclic and/or acyclic carbonic ester, at least one C1-C13 alkanol optionally containing one or two oxygen atoms as an ether bond and optionally being substituted by C1-C4 alkyl and/or hydroxy, and which contains at least one alkaline or alkaline earth alkanolate, optionally melamine and, optionally, a catalyst. According to the method, salts are removed from the reaction mixture by ion exchange on a cation exchanger and/or anion exchanger.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing alkoxycarbonylamino triazines of formula (I) by reacting diaminotriazines or triaminotriazines with cyclic carbonic acid esters and optional subordinate quantities of acyclic carbonic acid esters in the presence of an alcohol and an alkaline alkanol or alkaline-earth alkanol as a base. In said formula, Y1 represents hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, phenyl that is optionally substituted by C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, or halogen, or a radical of formula NR5R6 while R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 independently represent hydrogen or a radical of formula COOX or X, wherein X represents C1-C13 alkyl, the carbon skeleton of which can be interrupted by 1 or 2 oxygen atoms having the function of ether and/or substituted by hydroxy, or C3-C6 alkenyl provided that at least one of the radicals R1 to R4 in formula (I) represents COOX, or at least one of the radicals R1 to R6 in said formula represents COOX if Y1 represents NR5R6.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a radiation-curable binder obtainable by reacting A) amine-formaldehyde condensates with a molar ratio of formaldehyde to amino groups of 1:6 to 2:1 with B) a mixture of butanediol monoacrylate and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate in a ratio of 0.1:100 to 100:0.1, using 0.1 to 1.5 hydroxy equivalents of component B) per methylol equivalent of component A). The present invention further relates to a curable coating material comprising the binder of the invention, and to a coated article produced using the coating material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing polymethylolated melamine and polymethylolated melamine compounds that are polyetherified with alkanol, the methylolation reaction being carried out in a mixing reactor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of flowable, pulverulent alkoxycarbonylaminotriazine from an alcoholic reaction mixture produced during the preparation of alkoxycarbonylaminotriazines and comprising at least one alkoxycarbonylaminotriazine, at least one cyclic and/or acyclic carbonic acid ester, at least one C1-C13-alkanol optionally containing one or two oxygen atoms as ether bond and optionally substituted by C1-C4-alkyl and/or hydroxy, and at least one alkali metal or alkaline earth metal alkoxide, optionally melamine and optionally catalyst, where the reaction mixture is atomized and dried in a spray-dryer.
