Abstract: A process for coloring a textile substrate comprises a textile substrate (a) being pretreated with an aqueous pretreatment liquor comprising (A) at least one resin selected from melamin derivatives, dimethyloldihydroxy-ethyleneurea (DMDHEU) and derivatives of DMDHEU, and (B) at least one thickener, and thereafter (b) being printed by the ink jet process.
