PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material for exterminating soil-living pests.SOLUTION: The pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material includes: (i) 0.001-10 wt.% of at least one pesticide compound which is active against soil-living noxious arthropod; (ii) 80-99.999 wt.% of at least one granular superabsorbent polymer; and (iii) water, based on the total weight of the composition except for water and the components (i) and (ii) make up at least 90 wt.% of the composition except for water. The pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material is obtained by treating the granular superabsorbent polymer with a liquid aqueous composition containing the at least one pesticide compound.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing an emulsifiable granule comprising the steps of a) emulsifying water with a solution of a pesticide in a water-insoluble solvent, b) contacting the emulsion resulting from step a) and a solid dispersant containing a water-soluble polycarboxylate and a water-soluble anionic surfactant, and c) extruding the paste resulting from step b). The invention further relates to emulsifiable granules containing a water-insoluble solvent, a pesticide, which is dissolved in the water-insoluble solvent, a water-soluble polycarboxylate, and a water-soluble anionic surfactant.

The present invention relates to new aqueous microemulsions containing one or more organic insecticide compounds and to their use for plant protection, including seed and crop protection, and protection of non-living material. The formulation according to the invention comprises: a) at least one organic insecticide compound I having a water solubility of not more than 5 g/l at 298 K and 1013 mbar; b) at least one polar organic solvent selected from ketones, esters, amides and ethers, each having from 6 to 8 carbon atoms; c) at least one alcohol having from 6 to 8 carbon atoms; d) at least one surfactant selected from anionic surfactants and non-ionic surfactants; e) at least one non-polar organic solvent different from b); and f) water.

The object of the present invention is an oil-in-water emulsion comprising solvent (A), water (B), surfactant (C) and at least 2 wt.% pesticide (D) based on the emulsion, wherein the solvent contains an aromatic hydrocarbon (a), and a ketone (b). The invention further relates to a method for producing an oil-in-water emulsion in that solvent (A), water (B), surfactant (C) and at least 2 wt.% pesticide (D), based on the emulsion, are mixed together. Other objects include an agrochemical formulation comprising the emulsion according to the invention and other auxiliary materials; a method for combating phytopathogenic fungi and/or undesirable plant growth and/or undesirable insect or mite infestations and/or for regulating the growth of plants; a method for combating undesirable insect or mite infestations on plants and/or for combating phytopathogenic fungi and/or for combating undesirable plant growth; also, seeds treated with an agrochemical formulation according to the invention.

The present invention relates to novel pesticide compositions in the form of a gel material or a solid material which are suitable for combating arthropod pests, in particular insects. The pesticide composition in the form of a gel or solid contains: i) 0.001 to 50% by weight of at least one pesticide compound which is effective against arthropod pest, ii) 0.5 to 20% by weight of at least one superabsorbent polymer P having an absorption capacity for deionised water of at least 100 g per 1 g of polymer P, and iii) 5 to 94.5% by weight of at least one filler material different from water, and iv) 5 to 94.5% by weight of water, wherein the % by weight are based on the total weight of the composition. The present invention also relates to the use of the pesticide compositions as described herein for combating arthropod pests and to a method for combating arthropod pests, which comprises applying a gel composition as defined herein either directly or as an aqueous dilution to a location where the arthropod pest gets into contact with said composition.

The present invention relates to a microemulsion, comprising (A) 0.1 to 50 wt.% of at least one active agent as component A, (B) 0.5 to 40 wt.% of at least one solvent that can be completely mixed with water and selected from the group consisting of esters from acetic acid, lactic acid, benzoic acid, dicarboxylic acids, cyclic esters, cyclic amides, carbonates, sulfurous solvents, phosphates, ethers and mixtures thereof, as component B, (C) 10 to 40 wt.% of at least one non-ionic surfactant as component C, (D) 0 to 10 wt.% further additives as component D, (E) 10 to 90 wt.% water as component E, and (F) 0.1 to 60 wt.% of at least one solvent that can be partially mixed with water as component F, each in relation to the entire microemulsion, wherein the sum of the amounts of components, A, B, C, D, E, and F is 100 wt.%, and the microemulsion does not comprise any anionic surfactants. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said microemulsion and to the use of said microemulsion for treating plants.

The present invention relates to a novel liquid aqueous crop protection formulation which comprises a) at least one organic active crop protection ingredient with a water solubility of less than 5 g/l at 20°C; b) at least one organic solvent with a water solubility of more than 100 g/l at 20°C; c) at least one organic solvent with a water solubility of 2 to 100 g/l at 20°C; d) at least one organic solvent with a water solubility of less than 2 g/l at 20°C; e) at least one nonionic surfactant; f) at least one anionic surfactant; and g) water. The invention also relates to the use of the crop protection formulation for treatment of plants and seed, to corresponding methods and to treated seed.

Another subject is a process for the preparation of said ant bait, comprising extruding a mixture, which contains the insecticide and the bait composition. Yet another subject is a method for controlling ants, comprising offering to said ants the ant bait according to the invention. Finally, a subject is a use of the ant bait according to the invention for controlling ants.
