Abstract: Procedimiento para la eliminación de dióxido de carbono (CO2) por medio de un agente de absorción de un sistema de gas en circulación, produciéndose el CO2 dentro de un proceso en el que en la fase de gas sobre un catalizador se lleva a cabo una oxidación de etileno con oxígeno (O2) para dar óxido de etileno (OE), en la que como producto secundario se genera CO2, caracterizado porque como agente de absorción se usa una disolución acuosa de una o varias aminas, en el que para la purificación adicional de la corriente de gas en circulación obtenida después de la etapa de absorción de CO2 se pone ésta en contacto íntimo con agua, a la que no se añadió ningún ácido mineral ni ningún glicol superior, y el agua usada para la purificación adicional de la corriente de gas en circulación obtenida después de la etapa de absorción de CO2 se recircula de nuevo para la misma etapa de purificación, evacuándose una parte del agua y sustituyéndose por agua nueva.
