IN ORDER TO PRODUCE A PRINTING MACHINE WHICH CAN GUARANTEE A HOMOGENEOUS CONTINUOUS FILM ON THE COLORANT SUPPORT EVEN AFTER SEVERAL TRANSFERS OF COLORANT FROM THE COLORANT CARRIER TO THE PRINTING MEDIUM OR A TRANSFER MEANS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INVENTION, THE MACHINE IS PROVIDED WITH A COLORANT STRIPPER WHEREIN THE COLORANT SUPPORT AND THE COLORANT STRIPPER ARE ARRANGED SO THAT A SECOND TRANSFER ZONE IS FORMED IN WHICH, DURING THE OPERATION OF THE PRINTING MACHINE, THE NON-CONSUMED COLORANT IS TRANSFERRED FROM THE COLORANT SUPPORT ONTO THE COLORANT STRIPPER.
