[Also in Division Fl] A pipette for dispensing liquid comprises a pump having a rod 21 operated in one direction by a spring 26 to draw liquid into a replaceable tip (16) only, which tip is attached to the end of a member 12; movement ceases when a stop 28 engages a stop 30. Liquid is discharged by pushing a button 14 until stop 32 engages stop 30. Further pressure causes stop 30 to move against spring 36 to cause total discharge and contacts 70, 72 are then bridged by a metal ring 80 to switch associated apparatus.
