Abstract:
Title compds. I (x,y = the same or others O, S, sep., R1 = C1-6 alkyl, R2 = C1-4 alkyl, R3 = C1-4 alkoxy, C2-5 alkynyloxy, C1-3 alkylsulfonyloxy, C1-3 monoalkyl carbamoyloxy, R4 = H, C1-3 alkyl), useful as insecticides and acaricides, were prepd. Thus, II were reacted with III or I and IV were reacted with V or I and IV were reacted with VI to give I.
Abstract:
The invention comprises isonitriles containing an azo group which are of the formula wherein A1 and A2, which may be the same or different, represent aromatic, arylene-carbonyl or arylene-sulphonyl radicals which may be substituted; X represents a free electron pair, an oxygen atom, or a nitrogen atom connected with A2 to form a ring; and m and n represent 0, 1 or 2, the sum of m and n being 1 or 2; 4-isocyano-azobenzene and 41-isocyano-2,31-dimethyl-azobenzene are disclaimed. They may be obtained by reacting formamides of the formula with water-eliminating acyl halides in the presence of bases. Specified starting materials include 4-formylamino-benzene-sulphonyl-azobenzene, 4-formylamino-benzoylazobenzene, 4-formylamino - 3 - methyl - 5 - ethyl - 41 - nitroazobenzene, 4 - formylamino - 3,5 - diethyl - 31-chloro - azobenzene, 4 - formyl - amino - benzene - 31 - methoxy - azobenzene - 41 - carboxylic acid methyl ester, ammonium 4-formylamino - azobenzene - 41 - sulphonate, 4 - formylamino - 3 - ethoxy - naphthalene - [1 - azo - 3]-(4 - methoxy - phenyl) - ethyl sulphone, 2-formylamino - naphthalene - [1 - azo - 4]-acetophenone, 4 - phenylmercapto - 31 - formylamino - azobenzene and 4 - formylamino - 5,6,7,8 - tetrahydro - naphthalene - [1 - azo - 4]-cyclohexyl-benzene. Specified water-eliminating acyl halides are phosgene, methane-sulphochloride, benzene-sulphochloride, POCl3, POBr3 and cyanuric chloride. Specified bases are trimethyl- and triethylamine, tetramethyl-ethylene diamine, dimethyl-cyclohexylamine, dimethyl - benzylamine, pyridine, quinoline, K2CO3 and potassium tert-butylate. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. The compounds have biocidal properties and may be used as the active constituent of biocidal compositions (see Division A5).ALSO:Biocidal compositions comprise a compound of the formula:- wherein A1 and A2, which may be the same or different, represent aromatic, arylene carbonyl or arylene sulphonyl radicals which may be substituted; X represents a free electron pair, an oxygen atom, or a nitrogen atom connected with A2 to form a ring; and m and n represent 0, 1 or 2, the sum of m and n being 1 or 2 (see Division C2 for preparation) and a solid or liquid diluent or carrier. They may be used in the form of emulsifiable concentrates, spray powders, pastes, soluble powders, dusting agents, granulates or in conjunction with other known active materials conventional solid or liquid carriers are specified. Conventional nonionic and anionic emulsifiers are also specified.
