    Abstract: 1408943 Polyester foam products BAYER AG 10 Nov 1972 [13 Nov 1971] 52016/72 Heading C3R In a process for producing moulded foam resin products with solid non-cellular surfaces and a density reducing from the surfaces towards the centre by foaming a reactive mixture of a polyisocyanate and an aromatic polyamine and optionally a polyether or polyester polyol in the presence of a blowing agent in a closed mould the polyisocyanate is a prepolymer obtained from a polyisocyanate and a compound having reactive hydrogen atoms and the polyamine is an amine of the formula or a mixture thereof with amine of formulae where n is 0, 1 or 2; R 1 , R 1 and R 3 or C 1-7 alkyl and R 11 , R 2 and R 4 are H or C 1-7 alkyl. The reactive hydrogen compound in the isocyanate prepolymer may be a polyamine, polyol, polycarboxy compound or polythiol of molecular weight 500 to 500. All the examples use a 2 component procedure wherein component A comprises the diamine together with silicone stabilizer, 1 - methyl - 4 - (N,N - dimethylaminoethyl)piperazine or 1,3,5 - (N,N - dimethyl - aminopropyl) - hexahydrotriazine, and monofluorotrichloromethane and component B the isocyanate prepolymer and sometimes further monofluorotrichloromethane. The polyamines used in components A are condensates of formaldehyde with (Examples 2, 6 and 7) 2,6-diisopropyl aniline, (Examples 1 and 5) a mixture thereof with 2-isopropyl- and 2,6-diethylanilines, (Example 3) 2,6-dimethylaniline and (Example 4) 2-methyl aniline. The isocyanate prepolymers in component B are (Examples 1 to 4) a mixture of prepolymers of (i) hexamethylene - 1,6 - diisocyanate and dipropylene glycol and (ii) tolylene diisocyanate and a mixture of polypropylene glycol 1000 and poly-(propylene-ethylene(glycol 4000; (Example 5) prepolymer (i) above only; (Example 6) tolylene- 2,4-diisocyanate and a mixture of the three glycols of (i) and (ii) above; and (Example 7) tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate and a mixture of di- and tri-propylene glycols and addition compound of propylene oxide to glycerol of M.W. 2600.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the production of polyurethane foams in closed molds using mixtures of organic polyisocyanates with certain compounds which liberate carbon dioxide under the catalytic influence of basic compounds. In this process a mixture of polyisocyanates and compounds which liberate carbon dioxide under the catalytic influence of basic compounds is reacted with organic compounds containing hydrogen atoms which are reactive with isocyanate groups, which organic compounds are mixed with basic compounds and/or have basic compounds chemically built into them. The process is suitable for the production of any polyurethane foams in a closed mold, but is preferably applied to the production of semi-hard and particularly of hard polyurethane foams having a dense outer skin.

    Abstract: A process is described for the successive production of at least two non-cellular molded articles differing in their mechanical properties. Both articles are based on organic polyisocyanates which are trimerized in the presence of compounds which are reactive with isocyanate groups where the equivalent ratio of NCO groups to groups reactive with NCO groups is varied within the range of 1:0.8 to 1:0. In a second embodiment, a uniform article is produced having anisotropic mechanical characteristics varying continuously and/or stepwise.

    Abstract: A process is disclosed which eliminates the necessity of applying a mold release agent to the mold when producing integral skinned polyurethane foam moldings in closed molds. This is accomplished by incorporating in the foamable reaction mixture an additive, which imparts mold release properties, said additive containing at least 25 aliphatic carbon atoms and being the salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and either a primary amine or an amine which contains either amide or ester groups.
