Abstract: A novel buffer for use in immunoassays for rheumatoid factor (RF) is provided. The novel buffer contains heparin. Use of this buffer suppresses interference from the component Clq found in some test samples, and alleviates the need for a heat inactivation pretreatment of test samples to eliminate Clq interference.
