THE PRODUCED 3-THIENYLACETIC ACID OR AN ALKYL ESTER THEREOF CAN BE FURTHER CONVERTED INTO 3-THIENYLMALONIC ACID WHICH IN TURN MAY BE CONVERTED TO A-CARBOXY - 3 - THIENYLMETHYLPENCILLION OR AN ESTER THEREOF.
