Abstract: The device has a detecting case (30) connected to an electrical supply case, and including an infrared detector (50) with a matrix of photo detectors and a removable infrared lens (46) assembled in front of the detector. The detecting case has an electronic controlling card for controlling the detector to acquire and digitize infrared signals, and for controlling a motorized rotating unit rotating a rotary disk (56). A processor (82) controls the functioning of the detecting case and an application of gas detecting algorithm with the signals provided by the detector.
