Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a gripper bar which is small in weight and vertical dimension and large in rigidity and holding force. CONSTITUTION: A gripper bar mounted on a drive chain to hold and carry a plate shaped sheet through printing, cutting or similar machine to produce a packaging body is provided with a hollow bar 100. The gripper is mounted on the bar 100. Each gripper has a flat spring 110, one end 110a of the spring 110 is at the position of a gripper receiving member 125 positioned on a downstream edge 100d, and the other end 100b is at the position of the gripper receiving member positioned on an upstream edge 100c. The length of the flat spring 110 is larger than the width of the bar 100, and the spring 110 passes through the bar 100, and projected through a window 112 at the upstream edge 100c of the bar 100.
