Carburetting.-Relates to means for controlling the supply of hydrocarbon to a carburettor in proportion to the amount of carburetted air withdrawn from the apparatus. Gas from the carburettor e passes webs d to a mercurysealed bell b, and issues therefrom to the outlet pipe b through peripheral slots, which are more or less unsealed by the pressure of the gas. The bell is connected by links c' mounted on a fixed pivot c to a vertically - movable tube c having a hole c , through which petrol passes to the carburettor e by way of a fixed tube e when the bell b rises. The petrol is supplied from a float chamber g and rests on mercury d.
