    Abstract: Disclosed a regulating device for a fuel volume adjuster of a self-igniting internal combustion engine. In order to damp jerking movements resulting at different power transmissions, a signal corresponding to the actual rotary speed of the engine is fed back into an electronic regulating circuit. Preferably, the feedback path includes a phase shifter. It is essential that the regulating action of the rotary speed be not delayed by the phase turning shifter. For this purpose, the electronic regulating circuit includes a PI stage and the fed back signal is applied to the regulating circuit only after its I-constituent has become effective.

    Abstract: An apparatus for damping bounce-induced oscillations in an internal combustion engine having a fuel metering control for supplying fuel to the engine in accordance with various operational signals, which includes an engine speed sensor for generating an rpm signal proportional to the engine rpm, a signal differentiation circuit for producing an rpm differential signal from the rpm signal, and a phase-shifting circuit, connected to receive the rpm differential signal, for supplying to the fuel metering control a bounce damping signal which is proportional to the rpm differential signal and which is phase-displaced with respect to the rpm differential signal so that the fuel metering control supplies fuel to the engine to countercontrol the bounce-induced oscillations of the engine. In a preferred embodiment, the phase-shifting circuit includes a controllable dead time element for varying the phase displacement in accordance with the bounce frequency so as to compensate for the total system transit time of the apparatus, to thus effect countercontrolling of the bounce oscillations which is correctly phased and correct in frequency.

Date Apr. 23, 1987.A system for controlling injection time points and quantity of the fuel injection in a self-igniting internal combustion engine includes a transmitter of reference pulses (R) coupled to a crankshaft and a transmitter of speed pulses (D) and of a synchronizing pulse coupled to the camshaft. From the distance of two speed pulses immediately preceding a reference pulse, a measuring interval and instantaneous angular speed are determined. The injection time point is computed as a function of the instantaneous angular speed and of engine variables. By means of the synchronizing pulse, the measuring section and the reference pulse are assigned to a corresponding cylinder.

    Abstract: The speed governing system is for an i/c engine involving a governor pref. with proportional integral differential characteristics, and with a theoretical value deduced from a specific actual speed level. The difference between speed theoretical and actual levels is dependent upon the speed itself, and can be mathmetically calculated from the speed actual value and three other speed levels. Also used in calculation of the difference are at least the load and/or temp. values. The theoretical speed value has an upper limit. When speed is dropping, governing only occurs when there is a lower difference between theoretical and actual speed values than the corresponding difference value under increasing speed conditions.
