Abstract: A pintle for radial piston machines has two elongated control chambers separated from each other by lands and flanked by two mirror symmetrical grooves. The distance between the grooves varies periodically and the regions where the grooves are nearest to as well as most distant from each other are spaced apart from the centers of the lands, as considered in the circumferential direction of the pintle. Each groove may have a sinusoidal outline or it may consist of several arcuate sections each forming part of a circle. Alternatively, each groove may consist of straight sections which make an obtuse angle with each other.

Abstract: The hydraulic control circuit for a road rolling machine includes a safety system which prevents too sudden an increase of the servo control mechanism or too sudden slowing down, so as to prevent damaging the freshly laid surface. The circuit includes a hydraulic pump (10) supplying a hydraulic motor (13) forming a hydrostatic drive, controlled by a main valve (24). Connected to this valve is an auxiliary valve (28) which connects the high pressure side to a reservoir tank (29) when a certain pressure is reached. A pressure drop across a throttle (26) in parallel with the main valve causes fluid to pass from the high pressure side to the low pressure side, so that the amount of fluid pumped is reduced.

Abstract: 1,115,194. Gear pumps and motors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. July 2, 1965 [July 4, 1964], No.28027/65. Heading F1F. In a pressure-loaded gear pump or motor, bearing members or bodies 17, 18, Fig.1, are pressed against the sides of a pair of externallymeshing gears 13, 14 by pressure communicated to a recess or zone 24 at the back of each member through an axially-orientated passage 25 on the high-pressure side of the meshing gear-teeth, the recess being sealed by an O-ring 23. Each bearing member also includes a pair of blind bores (37, 38), Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), which are in register with gear-tooth spaces upstream from the passage 25 and effect noise-reduction by serving as chambers wherein pressure fluctuations are dissipated. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5, pairs of axially-orientated bores 39, 41 and 40, 42 in each bearing member are connected by further bores 43, 44 to the passage 25, the recess 24 thereby rendering the same service as the bores (37, 38). In a further modification, Fig. 6 to 8 (not shown), to effect noise reduction a pair of inclined bores (47, 48) in each bearing member intersect the passage 25 and are connected to one another by a groove (49) situated in the face of the member adjacent the gears to minimize cavitation in the tooth-spaces approaching the high-pressure side. Each bearing member includes a pair of slots 28, 29 to render radially pressure-loaded portions 30, 31 resilient.
