    Abstract: A pair of radial tires consist of two tires each having a tread comprising annular land portions formed by a plurality of circumferential main grooves extending in the circumferential direction of the tire, and rows of blocks formed by extending transverse main grooves inclinedly in the circumferential direction in at least land portions located at axially opposite side edge portions of the tire. Tread patterns of these two tires are asymmetrical and have directional property. Transverse main grooves of each of the tires, which define the rows of the blocks to be located axially inside, are extended inclinedly downwardly toward the inner side of the tread in the width direction as viewed from the front side of the tire. Each of the transverse main grooves of the tire, which define the row of the blocks located axially on the outer side is extended in an almost inverse V-letter shape as viewed from the front side of the tire.

    Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire for passenger car is disclosed, which comprises a tread portion, a pair of sidewall portions, a pair of bead portions, a radial carcass, a belt and a rubber filler. In this type of the tire, the carcass has such a radial profile of a carcass line in tire section that when the tire is mounted on a normal rim and inflated at a working internal pressure, a ratio of radii R/R' is within a range of 0.65-0.85 and f is within a range of 5-10 mm, where R' is a radius of a standard arc passing through points B, E and C, R is a radius of curvature in a curved line of a shoulder profile of the carcass line passing through the point C, and f is a maximum distance between the standard arc and the remaining carcass line smoothly extending from the curved line of the shoulder profile to the point B and having a single inflection point. Further, the tread has a width corresponding to 55-62% of the tire width, and the working internal pressure is higher by 25-50% than a normal internal pressure.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tyre pair comprises a pair of tyres which are each to be arranged on one side of a vehicle. The pneumatic tyre pair comprises profiles on the pair of tyres in axial symmetry with respect to a longitudinal centre line of the vehicle. Each of the profiles comprises a plurality of inclined main grooves which extend from an inside of the profile at least to one outer tread edge of the tyre which is mounted on the vehicle in order to form zig-zag-shaped patterns which point in one direction with respect to the directions of rotation of the tyres, and at least one circumferential groove which intersects the inclined main grooves and extends in circumferential directions of the tyre. Each of the profiles is asymmetrical with respect to a circumference of the tread.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pneumatic radial tire for use in a muddy road and/or a snow road, which comprises a pair of annular side wall portions each provided with a bead portion, a tread portion extended over the side wall portions outside in the radial direction of the tire, and a reinforcement consisting of a carcass composed of at least one cord ply containing organic fiber cords therein, which cord ply being wound around a bead core embedded in each of the bead portions from the inside to the outside of the tire, and a belt composed of at least two ply layers superimposed around the crown portion of the carcass and containing rubberized cords of a high elasticity arranged at a relatively small inclination angle with respect to the midcircumferential plane of the tire, the cords of which being crossed with each other, and rubber fillers each filled between the carcass and the turn-up portion thereof for hardening the bead portion. The carcass radial profile is varied by enlarging the negative ratio with use of a block pattern, and deepening the grooves of the pattern in the tread.

    Abstract: In order to minimise the reduction in cornering ability and the increase in rolling resistance which is normally associated with the large negative ratio and the deep grooves of the tread pattern of a high traction tire for use on muddy and/or on snowy or icy roads the carcass has a radial profile such that when the tire is mounted on a normal rim and inflated at a working internal pressure, a ratio of radii R/R' is within a range of 0.65-0.85 and f is within a range of 5-10 mm, where R' is a radius of a reference arc passing through points B, E and C; R is a radius of curvature of a contour curve in a shoulder portion of the carcass line extending to the point C, and f is the maximum distance between the reference arc and a contour curve in the remaining portion of the carcass line smoothly connecting to the above contour curve and having a single infection point toward the point B. Further, the tread portion is provided with a pattern of block type having a negative ratio of 33-40%, and the pattern is formed with relatively deep grooves (e.g. 10.5 mm).
