    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time before ink is discharged stably. SOLUTION: The ink supply member is provided with an ink tank where ink is stored, and an ink emission control material partially filled in the ink tank while blocking an ink discharge opening of the ink tank. The ink emission control material is comprised of a superfine cell foam having a density of not smaller than 0.06 g/cm , 100 or more cells per inch and a quantity of airflow of 0.002-40 cc/cm /second or a thermal pressing molded object of the foam. Since a negative pressure rises by a small quantity of the foam and is stable, ideal negative pressure characteristics are shown, and additionally, a quantity of ink in an ink cartridge can be increased. Moreover, the negative pressure can be controlled by changing the material.
