Abstract: A flexible rock bolt 4 (Fig 1) or 17 (Fig 2) has a termination tube 7 secured to its outer end by means of injected settable medium which secures the bolt 4 in the hole 1, the thrust plate 11 either being clamped by a nut 12 screwed onto the tube 7 or being welded directly to the tube 7. The inner surface of the tube 7 is roughened, and the rock bolt 4 may be a hollow rope or a ribbed flexible member. The settable medium may be resin or cementitious grout. The tube 7 may have an external circumferential groove for receiving an O-ring or circlip to provide temporary sealing and anchorage.
