Abstract: A device is described for indicating the depletion of a purifying agent containe d in an insert of a water purifying apparatus (7). In order to produce such a device better, to improve it technically, to construc t it so as to be be user-friendly and also more moderate in price, provision is made according to the invention that an indicator apparatus (1) is arranged in order to indicate to the user the depletion of the purifying agent as a function of the quantity of water which has run through the purifying agent; or alternatively to indicate to the user the depletion as a function of the quantity of water which has run through the purifying agent and as a function of time; in which preferably t he indicator apparatus is connected with an arrangement which is arranged on a part (3) movable relative to the insert and which on this movement triggers a switchi ng process.

Abstract: An original water purification system produces potable water, which is held in the filtrate vessel (1). Abstract: A water cleaning assembly (7) installed e.g. in a dwelling makes use of a cleaning agent additive held within an insert cartridge which becomes exhausted with the passage of time. The level of exhaustion is indicated by an instrument or display (1) comprising an electronic device which indicates the level of cleaning agent exhaustion based on a combination of water throughput and the passage of time. The electronic device (1) is joined to the cleaning agent insert by a moving linkage (3), which triggers the instrument (1) display by movement. The instrument (1) consists of a reed switch (2) and a magnet (4) fitted to the moving linkage (3).
