    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a thermally stable electrical insulating paper superior in mechanical characteristics by comprising melamine resin fibers, polymer fibrils as a fiber binder, and if necessary, other specified components. CONSTITUTION: An aq. dispersion having a solid content of 0.1-10% which comprises (A) 15-95 (wt.)% synthetic resin fibers, preferably fibers comprising a melamine/formaldehyde condensed product, (B) 5-85% polymer fibrils such as an aromatic polyamide or polyimide or a melamine/formaldehyde condensed product, and further, (C) 0-30% synthetic resin powder (such as of aminoplast and epoxy resins), and (D) 0-80% inorg. fillers such as cement, talc and kaolin is processed on a papermaking machine to make an original paper. It is dried at 120-180 deg.C, then pressed at a temp. of above 200 deg.C by means of a press, and smoothed to obtain a thermally stable electrical insulating paper easily at a low cost.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a melamine-formaldehyde resin fiber having a high level of strength, homogenous elasticity and low flash point by feeding the resin solution to a rotating plate in a specified condition and centrifugally spinning the resin. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing fibers has a centrifugal spinning process comprising supplying a resin solution having 50-200 Pa.s viscosity at a spinning temperature to a rotating plate 1. An enough pressure to completely fill a nozzle 9 of the rotating plate 1 with the resin solution, normally 10-80 bar, preferably 30-55 bar, is added to the solution within the plate.
