Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flame retardant polymer compositions that contain mixtures of melamine polyphosphates with layered silicates.SOLUTION: A composition comprises a) at least one polyphosphate salt of a 1,3,5-triazine compound of the formula (I) where T represents a 1,3,5-triazine compound and p represents a numeral greater than 3, b) at least one natural or synthetic phyllosilicate or a mixture thereof, c) a polymer substrate, and d) phenolic antioxidants.
