Abstract:
A cartridge collecting apparatus (300) for collecting an ink cartridge (170) comprises collecting means (301) and wireless communicating means (209). The collecting means being capable of receiving an ink cartridge including an information memory medium storing predetermined information, wireless sending means capable of wireless sending of a predetermined information in said information memory medium within a predetermined range, a wireless communication antenna for wirelessly sending radio wave, and communication property changing means for changing a communication property of the wireless sending. The wireless communicating means (209) is capable of wireless communication with the antenna of the ink cartridge, said wireless communicating means being disposed within a sendable range of the wireless sending when the ink cartridge is disposed in said collecting apparatus (300).
Abstract:
An ink supplying system for supplying ink (I) to a recording head (20) of a recording apparatus (150). The ink supplying system includes an ink tank (10) for containing ink (I) and an ink supplying unit (50), connected to the ink tank (10) via communication paths, for supplying the ink (I) from the ink tank (10) to the recording head (20). The ink (I) in the ink tank (10) is introduced into the ink supplying unit (50) through at least one of the communication paths, and gas in the ink supplying unit (50) is transported into the ink tank (10) through at least a different one of the communication paths. At least one of the ink tank (10) and the ink supplying unit (50) has storage means for storing information regarding the amount of ink (I) in the ink supplying system.
Abstract:
The invention provides a liquid container (11) capable of supplying ink to the exterior until the ink is almost depleted, and allowing simple detection of the remaining ink amount and deviated distribution of the ink component after a prolonged standing. The liquid container is provided with a first connection port (27) and a second connection port (28) on the bottom, communicating with a liquid chamber. The connection port is positioned closer to the end of the container bottom, while the connection port is positioned closer to the center thereof. In the connection ports, elastic members (16) are provided so as to prevent leakage of the ink in the liquid chamber.
Abstract:
A liquid discharge recording head (100) comprising a recording head main body provided with a plurality of liquid flow paths communicated with a plurality of discharge ports for discharging liquid, respectively, and energy generating means for generating energy utilized for discharging the liquid filled in the liquid flow paths from the discharge ports, and an orifice plate (101) provided with a discharge port array (101b) having the plurality of discharge ports aligned in one straight line, and bonded to the front face of the recording head main body having openings of the plurality of discharge ports formed therefor, wherein the orifice plate is provided with the extended portion (101A) in the alignment direction of the discharge port array (101b) or in the direction orthogonal to the alignment direction, being extended more than the width of the front face of the recording head main body, and the extended portion (101A) is fixed to the adjacent face of the front face of the recording head main body.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a printing head having connection terminals for performing an electrical connection of signals including drive signals of print elements by contacting connection terminals in an apparatus side when the head is mounted onto an ink jet printing apparatus. It is made to guarantee connections of all terminals by detecting contacts of a part of terminals. Among the terminals in the head, terminals whose distances from the connection terminals in the printing apparatus become maximum when a deviation occurred in the mounting, are used as terminals for contact detection. For example, from among the connection terminals arranged in a planar area, which is rectangular-shaped, terminals positioned in corners are used as the terminals for the contact detection. When the contacts of these terminals are detected, the connections of all the terminals inside the area can be guaranteed.

Abstract:
An ink jet recording apparatus is arranged to mount on the main body thereof an ink tank (501) provided with a component of electrical conduction and an ink supply port, and structured to make ink supply and electrical connection possible. With the structure thus arranged, the adhesion of ink to the electric contacts is prevented in order to secure the reliability of electrical connection. The contacts are arranged on the side opposite to the hollow needle (25) with a supporting member of a connector (30) that supports plural contacts (31) on the connector as reference.
