Abstract: The photosensitive material is for an electrostatic copier. The material comprises a photosensitive layer in which an image sensitive charge is raised by application of a pressure sensitive conducting electrode. The photosensitive layer is covered on the outer by an insulating layer. The charge raising pressure sensitive electrode is a roller or drum with a surface resistance of not less then 1013 ohms/cm when relaxed and not more than 106 ohms/cm when under a pressure of 3 kg/cm2. The design eliminates imperfections such as pinholes in the latent and reproduced images. The electrode is a high elasticity polymer impregnated with a conducting powder such as copper or stainless steel. The photosensitive material is either an oxide, sulphide or iodide of zinc, aluminium etc. The insulating outer is either polyethelene, polyester etc., or epoxy resin.
