    Abstract: A facsimile apparatus is connected to an ISDN and is capable of transmission/reception. When a facsimile signal received from the ISDN is one sent to a non-ISDN facsimile apparatus, the facsimile signal received from the ISDN is converted into a non-ISDN facsimile signal and this signal is capable of being transmitted to the non-ISDN facsimile apparatus. Further, the facsimile apparatus is capable of being connected to a plurality of facsimile apparatus via an exchange, and a signal can be transmitted to a facsimile apparatus among the plurality thereof that is designated by a subaddress received from the ISDN. The facsimile apparatus is such that at the time of communication with a non-ISDN facsimile apparatus, communication is performed using the D channel of the ISDN, thereby raising the efficiency of ISDN utilization.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain redialing without awaiting expiration of a timer by depressing a start button during redialing waiting. CONSTITUTION:Data are read by an image scanner 6 and stored in a picture data storage section 9 and a dial is entered. An address is entered by using a ten-key of an operation panel section 5 and stored in a RAM 4. Then dialing is implemented and its termination is monitored. When the dialing is not normally finished, redial wait is displayed on an LCD of the panel section 5. Then a wait flag is set to start a redial timer and to set redial standby state. The operator depresses the start button to monitor timeout of redialing and when timeout is reached, the dialing is set. When the wait flag is set, the redial timer is stopped and a destination address is read from the RAM 4 to start redialing. Thus, redialing is easily executed without awaiting time-out during redial wait.

Thus, a means implementing the telephone reservation protocol in the G4 facsimile protocol to make telephone reservation even in the G4 facsimile protocol not only in the G3 facsimile protocol.

Thus, a calling operation can be simplified, and the load of the operator can be lightened.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To automatically make transmission to another facsimile equipment even when no operator attends by automatically calling a G3 equipment based on the telephone number of the G3 equipment sent from facsimile equipment making reception denial together with an incoming call denial signal. CONSTITUTION:Facsimile equipment 6 on a receiving side discriminates whether or not its own equipment 6 can accept an incoming cell when the equipment 6 is called by a G4 procedure and transmits the telephone number of a G3 equipment 7 which can accept the incoming call instead of the equipment 6 to the terminal of the originating call side together with an incoming call denial signal when the equipment 6 cannot accept the incoming call. The facsimile equipment 1 on the originating call side, on the other hand, calls the G3 equipment 7 based on the telephone number received together with the incoming call denial signal and makes communication with the G3 equipment 7 upon receiving the incoming call denial signal. Therefore, the facsimile equipment 6 is automatically switched to the G3 equipment 7 when an originating call is rejected by the equipment 6 and no operation of an operator is required.

In the case of not receiving the CPS signal and receiving the communication enable signal, the processing is shifted to the picture transmission reception processing. On the other hand, in the case of receiving the CPS signal, the CPU 2 inputs the CPS signal inputted from the line control section 9 to a table in a ROM 3 and a RAM 4 as an address data and the data of the redial number of times and the redial time interval is inputted corresponding to the received CPS signal. Then the line is interrupted and the state is restored to the standby state.

It has been difficult in a conventional controller to send a data from a host to a communication function within 6sec after a CFR (reception preparation confirmation) or an MCF (message confirmation), but it is made possible. Moreover, it is possible to send a correct picture by providing a buffer data of a prescribed capacity or over to a communication function to be correspondent to the change in the transmission speed of the data to the line depending on the fines of the picture.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow a personal computer or a word processor to recognize the reason of line disconnection by providing an LIE (FAX end notice) command having the reason of line interruption for the personal computer and the word processor if the line is interrupted during communication due to any reason. CONSTITUTION:Lots of errors take place from a picture data in an opposite FAX, an RTN signal 16 is sent. In receiving the signal, an LRS (response) command 15 is sent to the personal computer and a DCN(line cut-off command) 17 is sent to the opposite FAX. Then an LIE (FAX end notice) command 18 having a parameter representing the reason of line interruption is sent to the personal computer. Then an RIN (telephone network interruption notice) command 19 to the personal computer and the processing is finished.
