Abstract: In inkjet printers, it becomes possible to precisely estimate a remaining ink level in detailed scales with a low-cost and simple structure using a sensor. Specifically, a relatively inexpensive sensor that can examine whether the remaining ink level is below a predetermined value or not is employed in combination with a counter (C2) that retains information about ink consumption in printing and other operations. When the sensor has detected an ink level beyond the predetermined value or the presence of ink (S301), and the counter (C2) exceeds the threshold value (T2) corresponding to the ink-out level (N) (S308), the remaining ink level is increased to correct the counter error (S310).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively notify abnormal state of a recorder at low cost by notifying abnormal state based on the time to be elapsed before an abnormal state is detected by a detecting means after a command is delivered from a commanding means. SOLUTION: Occurrence of an abnormal state in a recorder 1 can be notified to a user by sounding a buzzer 14 with a volume higher than a specified level when a user is remote from the recorder 1. When the user is near the recorder 1, occurrence of an abnormal state in the recorder 1 can be notified to the user without causing any unnecessary cumbersomeness to the user by restricting the volume below the specified level. More specifically, presence of the user in the vicinity of an apparatus can be estimated without requiring any special sensor and a notifying means can be sounded with appropriate volume, time, frequency and the number of times of repetition.

The recording head 1 is let to scan on the basis of a result of the judgment and a result at a determining means determining a recording width, a transfer amount of a recording media and color component data to be cleared after recording. Color images are thus recorded.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image from disordering by a method wherein a recording by a second process is performed under the condition that a judgment whether a continuous image is present or not at the boundary between both regions adjacent to each other is performed and the judgment shows that the image is present neither at the boundary between a region to be recorded and a recorded region nor at the boundary between the region to be recorded and a region to be recorded next. SOLUTION: The presence and absence of a region, in which no image is present, (or a break) between a previous scanning and a present scanning is judged at a step S1. When not break is present, the printing direction of the present scanning is set to b a toward direction, in which a print improving liquid is printed before an ink is printed. When the break is present, the presence and absence of a break in the break judging region of the present scanning is judged at a step S2. When the break is present in the break judging region of the present scanning, the recording of image data ranging to the portion of the detected break is carried out by arbitrarily selecting either a forward direction, during which is present scanning recording is carried out by minimum short period of time, or a backward direction, in which the print improving liquid is printed after the ink is printed. When no break is present, the presence and absence of a break at the top of a next scanning is judged at a step S3. When the break is present, a recording is carried out in arbitrary direction at a step S5. When no break is present, a recording is carried out in the forward direction.
