Provided is a pressing member such that the warm-up time required for increasing the temperature of the pressing member to a temperature sufficient for fixing unfixed toner is reduced and such that wrinkles along the circumferential direction of the pressing member are suppressed. The pressing member includes a base, an elastic layer formed on the outer side of the base, and a surface layer containing a fluororesin formed on the elastic layer, the surface layer being stretched in the longitudinal direction of the pressing member and fixed on the elastic layer. The porosity of the elastic layer is between 20 vol% and 60 vol%, inclusive, and E(MD)/E(ND) is larger than 1.0, where E(ND) represents the elastic modulus of the elastic layer in the thickness direction, and E(MD) represents the elastic modulus of the elastic layer in the longitudinal direction of the pressing member.

An electrophotographic member comprising a base, a cured silicone rubber elastic layer, and a fluororesin surface layer produced by melting a fluororesin powder, said electrophotographic member being characterized in that a H µ1 /H µ0 value is 2.5 to 5.0 inclusive wherein H µ0 represents the microhardness of a cured rubber that constitutes the cured silicone rubber elastic layer and H µ1 represents the microhardness of a product produced by immersing the cured rubber in a methyl hydrogen silicone oil for 24 hours and then curing the immersed rubber.

Provided is a microchannel device manufacturing method by which a channel having high hydrophobicity, high solvent resistance, and resistance to heat and damage can be formed with high accuracy on demand, such that a microchannel device is manufactured at low cost with high productivity, wherein a channel pattern made of a hydrophobic resin is formed on a porous substrate via an electrophotographic method, and then the channel pattern is melted by heat and permeated into the porous substrate to form a flow path inside the porous substrate.
