    Abstract: There is disclosed a liquid crystal display comprising a ferroelectric liquid crystal panel 201, a heater 205 provided near or adjacent said panel, means 207 for detecting the temperature of said panel, and a control circuit 210 for controlling the amount of heat generated by said heater in accordance with a comparison result between an output of said detecting means and a first set temperature when said liquid crystal panel is in use, or a second set temperature when said liquid crystal panel is not in use. The control circuit may include a plurality of temperature decision circuits and a clock circuit. At least one control circuit may be located externally of the display and be connected thereto by an external connector.

    Abstract: If a liquid crystal display is subjected to a mechanical force it may acquire a sandy texture and require re-alignment. Such realignment is achieved by providing a heater 706 in the display 701, a temperature detector 714 and a control circuit 711 for the heater. The control circuit includes a number of temperature decisions circuits for deciding the temperature based on the information obtained from the temperature detector. The power supply to the heater is then controlled on the basis of information from the temperature decisions circuits and a clock circuit to re-align the liquid crystal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the heat generation body control circuit which need not have resolution, etc., and can performs safe re-orientation while a liquid crystal panel is incorporated in a display device by providing a switch circuit which turns ON and OFF electric power supplied to a heat generation body, a temperature judging circuit, and a re-orienting function composed of a timer circuit and a control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The heat generation body control circuit is switched with an operation mode signal 2098 and enters a stand-by state when its operation mode is re-orientation to wait for a start signal from a start switch 201. The control circuit 203 turns ON the switch circuit 205 in response to the start signal to start feeding electricity to the heat generation body 106 and a 3rd judging circuit 213 monitors the panel temperature until it exceeds safe timer set temperature. Simultaneously, the timer circuit 207 begins to clock the timer at the start of the electricity feeding and when its reach safe timer set timer while the safe timer set temperature is not exceeded, an abnormal end is judged to quit the re-orientation and a display circuit 204 makes an error display.
