Abstract: This specification discloses an ink jet recording head for discharging ink from discharge ports to thereby effect recording, characterized in that an element substrate having energy generating means for causing energy for discharting the ink in conformity with a recording signal to act on the ink and that portion of a flexible wiring substrate for transmitting the recording signal to the element substrate which is provided with a connecting terminal for the connection with the wiring substrate are disposed on one surface of a support member, a portion provided with a connecting terminal for effecting the electrical connection of the flexible wiring substrate to the apparatus side is disposed on the other surface of the support member by the flexible wiring substrate being bent, and the bent portion of the flexible wiring substrate has a slit portion which alleviates the bending reaction force of the flexible wiring substrate itself. The specification also discloses a method of manufacturing such ink jet recording head, and an ink jet recording apparatus using such ink jet recording head.
