Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the length of a blood vessel lesion by measuring a distance between a first and a second markers by aligning the first marker on a first slender member provided within a lumen with a first target location, and by aligning the second marker on a second slender member with a second target location. SOLUTION: After a guide wire is inserted into a blood vessel 54 and passed through an aneurysm 56, a catheter 10 retaining within a third member 50 is advanced along the guide wire to reach a proximal end 58 of the aneurysm 56. The catheter 10 is adjusted to align a radiation impermeable marker 18 with a target location provided at the proximal end 58 of the aneurysm 56, while the radiation impermeable marker 18 is left at the proximal end 58 of the aneurysm 56, a second slender member 20 is advanced is a relatively distal direction from a first and a third slender members 12, 50. The second slender member 20 is advanced until a radiation impermeable marker 26 reaches a distal end of the aneurysm 56, and measures the length of the aneurysm 56.
