Abstract: A printing apparatus reads a given image and prints the read-out image through a simple manual operation. An image sensor (24) and an image printer (43) are placed inside the main unit (11). After the image on a manuscript (2) has been read by the movement of the main unit (11), the read-out image is stored in an image data memory (107). The image stored in the image data memory (107) is read out and printed on a printing medium (32) in a tape cartridge (31). During the printing, the image stored in the image data memory (107) is printed in an enlarged or reduced size on the basis of the width of the printing medium (32) and the maximum width of the image.

An angle of an image reproducing monitor 3 serving as a finder in photography at the same time can be regulated to the main body part 1.
