Abstract: An electronic musical instrument can execute a musical performance with two timbres mixed together by operating a single key, for example. Of the two timbres, a master timbre is set in normal mode and is stored in a first memory, while a slave timbre is selected in tone mix mode and is stored in a second memory. Each timbre can be altered as desired. To alter the master timbre, timbre switches are operated after the mode is temporarily changed to normal mode. To alter the slave timbre, the timbre switches are operated in tone mix mode. When the tone mix mode is set, this electronic musical instrument can permit a player to easily alter tone parameters such as the volume, pitch and attack delay time of each timbre.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display character images, etc., in exacter shapes in displaying images superposed and synthesized with the character images, etc., as the images of the pixel number smaller than that thereof. SOLUTION: The horizontal pixel number (360 pixels) of the OSD(on-screen display) images is previously padded to the same horizontal pixel number (720 pixels) as that of the natural images and the OSD images are superposed and synthesized with the natural images. The fresh pixel data having the color information averaging the color information including the information indicating the transparency possessed by respective sets of the pixel data by each of the three pixels is formed from the horizontal pixel data of the synthesized images. The image data constituting the RGB images of 240 pixels in the horizontal pixel number is obtd. by a plurality of the formed image data. All of the color information in the OSD images are reflected at the RGB images.

The controller 5 reads the YUV data from the image memory 6 at an interval of several frames and transfers the data to a video encoder 11, by which the deframed monitor image is displayed on a liquid crystal display module 12.

During this operation, a read-out position on a medium is retrieved and reproducing is continuously performed.

SOLUTION: When a mode is an OSD compositing mode (YES in S1) in the case of generating a video signal, vertical and horizontal area data are obtained, which respectively indicate the start point and the end point of and OSD display area in vertical and horizontal scanning directions on a display screen (S3). When any one of prescribed conditions is satisfied in the OSD image (YES in one of S4-S6), 'one' is set in a register, vertical and horizontal area data are set in the register (S7 and S) and a chroma-noise reducing filter is on-controlled only during the scanning period of the OSD display area indicated by the vertical and horizontal area data. Unless a mode is an OSD compositing mode and also when none of the prescribed conditions is satisfied (NO in S1 or S6), 'zero' is set in the register (S2) and the chroma-noise reducing filter is off-controlled during the whole scanning period of the display screen.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a picture equivalent to multiple exposure of a silver salt camera with a very simple operation at all times by setting an image pickup device to a consecutive shot state that photographs a picture for a prescribed exposure period and selecting pictures only having pixels of a prescribed level or over in the captured picture for composite pictures. SOLUTION: In an automatic multiple exposure mode, a picture captured by a CCD 1 is fed to a picture memory 4 via a YUV processor 3. Simultaneously the captured picture is also fed to a video encoder 6 for through-picture display. A CPU 8 discriminates whether or not a pixel with a discrimination level or over is in existence in the captured picture and uses the captured picture for an objective of a picture composite when only one pixel as above is in existence in the captured picture. The pictures selected as synthesis objects because the pictures include the pixel with the discrimination level are sequentially composited in the picture memory 4. When the automatic multiplex exposure mode is finished, the composite picture data are written in a recording medium 9 and stored therein.
