Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the disconnection of a transparent electrode formed on a color filter by executing a development processing of a filter base material by a developer obtained by mixing a very small quantum of salts containing an alkali metallic element into pure water. CONSTITUTION:The development processing at the time of bringing a photosensitive filter base material 2 applied to a transparent substrate surface 1 to exposure and development processing, and patterning is executed by a developer obtained by mixing a very small quantum of salts containing an alkali metallic element into pure water. In such a way, when the development processing of the filter base material 2 is executed by the developer obtained by mixing a very small quantum of salts containing an alkali metallic element into pure water, an edge part of the filter base material 2 which is brought to pattering becomes a smooth edge shape being free from a protrusion. In such a way, the disconnection of a transparent electrode 4 formed on a color filter is prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent electrostatic sparks among electrodes arranged on one substrate and sparks between electrodes on one substrate and electrodes on the other substrate and to prevent breaking in an orienting film. CONSTITUTION: A pair of substrates 1, 2 are prepared to have electrodes 3, 4 and orienting films 9, 10 for a display formed in a specified area (A) and dummy electrodes 5, 6 formed in the outside of the specified area (A) which are connected with the electrodes 3, 4 through a conductive line 7. A sealing material 11 is applied to surround the area (A) on the substrate 1 while an adhesive material 12 for temporary fixing is applied on the dummy electrode 5. The both substrates 1, 2 are assembled by adhering with the sealing material 11 while the substrates 1, 2 are positioned with the adhesive 12 to obtain a liquid crystal panel. Conductive particles 13 are dispersed in the adhesive 12 so that the dummy electrode 5 on the one substrate 1 is electrically connected with the dummy electrode 6 on the other substrate 2 through the conductive particles 13.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the cell gap of a specific liquid crystal cell over the entire display area by increasing the positioning precision of the upper and lower opposite substrates of the liquid crystal display panel with a temporarily fixing agent. Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the dyeability of a dye to casein by using benzyl alcohol as an additive for a dyeing agent. CONSTITUTION:A layer which is to be dyed and consists of casein is formed on transparent electrodes 5... corresponding to red filters 5R in the case of forming, for example, said red filters. Said layer to be dyed is then dyed by the dyeing agent prepd. by dissolving a red dye and yellow dye respectively at prescribed concns. to prepare the aq. soln. of the dyes and adjusting the pH thereof with acetic acid. The benzyl alcohol is added to the aq. soln. of the dyes at the prescribed concn. The dyes which are macromolecules are satisfactorily penetrated between the casein molecules which are natural high polymers if the benzyl alcohol is added to the aq. soln. in the above-mentioned manner. Permeability is thereby enhanced and the adsorption of the casein molecules to the adsorption position is smoothed. The dyeability of the dyes to the casein of the layer to be dyed is thus improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide rubbing cloth having good dispersibility of filaments constituting projection for forming orienting grooves on a rubbing surface. CONSTITUTION: Warp 12 is composed of the twisted filament 12A and weft 13A, 13B are composed of the twistless filaments 14. Both ends of the weft 13A, 13B are so woven as to constitute projections 13a, 13b for forming the orienting grooves projecting to a rubbing surface side. As a result, the dispersibility of the filaments 14 constituting the projections 13a, 13b for forming the orienting grooves is improved. The intervals between the orienting grooves and the groove widths are eventually made uniform and the display characteristics of a liquid crystal display are improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a spectral characteristic and light resistance by dyeing plural layers which are to be dyed and are formed on a substrate with respectively specific dye mixtures. CONSTITUTION:The layers which are to be dyed and consist of casein are dyed in order of red, green and blue while said layers are successively formed on transparent electrodes in the case of forming respective filters of a liquid crystal display panel formed by sealing a liquid crystal material between a pair of the upper and lower transparent glass substrates and arranging the many transparent electrodes consisting of ITO, etc., on the opposed surfaces thereof. The red filter of the layers to be dyed in this case is dyed with a mixture composed of the red dye expressed by formula (I) and dye exhibiting a yellow hue, the green filter is dyed with a mixture composed of the green dye expressed by formula (II) and dye exhibiting a yellow hue and the blue filter is dyed with the blue dye expressed by formula (III). The spectral characteristic and light resistance are thereby improved.
