Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable optimally to adjust a relationship between a contrast ratio and a tailing noise by adding a function continuously adjusting driving frequency. SOLUTION: A memory output control circuit 10 sequentially reads digital R, G, and B picture signals stored in a picture memory 7 from the leading address by 1H (horizontal period) at the synchronization timing based on the oscillation frequency of an oscillation signal inputted from an oscillator 9, at the horizontal synchronization timing including the vertical blanking period, and successively transmits them to a data processing circuit 11. This output transmission timing is asynchronous to the input transmission timing at the time of transmitting the picture signals to the picture memory 7 to store, and the oscillation frequency of the oscillator 9 can continuously be set to an optional frequency. The data processing circuit 11 converts sequentially inputted digital picture signals into data conforming to a liquid crystal display panel 13, and sequentially outputs them to the liquid crystal display panel 13 at a timing with the driving signal inputted from a driving signal generation circuit 12, and controls driving a television picture display.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display method capable of improving the display quality of a liquid crystal display panel having the number of scanning lines smaller than that of a picture. CONSTITUTION:In a 1st field of a 1st frame, a selection pulse T1 for low voltage V1 with 1H period width is supplied to a 1st scanning line, selection pulses T2 to Tn for high voltage V3 and low voltage V1 respectively having 2H period width and 1H period width are successively supplied to a 2nd scanning lines and after every two scanning lines. In a 2nd field, a selection pulse T1 for the high voltage V3 with the 2H period width is supplied to a 1st scanning line and selection pulses T2 to Tn for the high voltage V3 and the low voltage V1 respectively having the 1H and 2H period width are successively supplied to a 2nd scanning line and after every two two scanning lines. Picture data for a corresponding period, i.e., the 1H or 2H period in which the selection pulses T1 to Tn are the low voltage V1 or the high voltage V3, are supplied to each scanning line and displayed.

A signal side driving control circuit 10 and a scan side driving circuit 5 display the video signal by impressing the liquid crystal driving voltage corresponding to this digital gradation signal to the display elements of respective intersections on the liquid crystal display panel 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal driving circuit displaying a precise image with no omission of information even in a liquid crystal display panel with the less number of signal electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An A/D conversion circuit 2 digital converts the analog display data of RGB to output to a selection circuit 3, and an A/D conversion timing generation circuit 4 generates 810 pieces of sampling signals, a one vertical period end signal and a signal identifying start and end of one horizontal scanning period to output to a nondisplay timing generation circuit 5. The nondisplay timing generation circuit 5 divides the sampling signals to 90 groups making 9 pieces one set, and makes continuous three pieces of the sampling signals of respective sets a nondisplaying signal, and makes residual six pieces a displaying signal to output to the selection circuit 3, and shifts the continuous three pieces of the nondisplaying signals of respective sets by one display data each at every one vertical period. The selection circuit 3 synthesizes the digital display data with the displaying signals to output to a liquid crystal control circuit 6, and the liquid crystal control circuit 6 converts it to a gradation signal to drive the liquid crystal panel 9.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain an optimal driving voltage and flexibly cope with temperature characteristics of various LCDs in the whole use temperature range that is usually possible, by using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: Temperature signal outputs of thermistors TM1 and TM2 placed in the neighborhood of analog RGB signals R, G, B, and an LCD 11 are inputted to an input selection circuit 1. The input selection circuit 1 selects the temperature signal of the thermistor TM1 and TM2 during a A/D conversion idle period of a video signal. The selected temperature signal is A/D converted by an A/D conversion circuit 4, and is given to a voltage translation table storage part 5. The output data obtained from the voltage conversion table of the voltage conversion table storage part 5 is inputted to a D/A conversion circuit 6 so as to be converted into the analog signal, and a drive voltage corresponding thereto is applied to a segment driver 9 and a common driver 10 through an LCD drive circuit 8.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the liquid crystal display device, in which the amount of variation in an effective value is reduced and the generation of cross talk is also reduced, by dividing and generating the spikes, that are generated with signal electrode driving signals while conducting a polarity reversal driving of the scanning electrodes, into before and after the polarity reversal timing, canceling the generation of the spikes and providing a zero bias period. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device 1, the alternative signals, which are inputted into a segment driver 3, are divided into odd and even electrode alternative signals and the polarity reversal timing of each signal electrode driving signal, which is applied to the odd and even signal electrodes, is made different while polarity reversal is conducted by the alternative control signal inputted to a common driver 2, spike waveforms are generated in a distributable manner before and after the polarity switching, the amount of variation in the effective value of the liquid crystal applied voltage by the spike waveforms is reduced and the cross talk generation is also reduced.

The circuit 70 is provided with vertical/horizontal direction control circuits 71, 72 for executing scanning line thinning processing based on two kinds of broadcasting systems, i.e., an NTSC system and a PAL system, and generating display control signals corresponding to a liquid crystal display part 40. The circuit 73 selects either one of display control signals inputted from the circuits 71, 72 based on a broadcasting discriminating signal BS inputted from a control circuit 65 and outputs the selected signal to the unit 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To adjust a color video displayed on a color liquid crystal display device to a required color tone without drastic increase in the cost and revising a circuit design. CONSTITUTION: An input signal selection means distributes inputted analog RGB signals to a three-bit A/D conversion means A20 and the three-bit A/D conversion means B21 consisting of two systems by selecting fittingly. An A/D reference voltage generation means 22 generates plural kinds of A/D reference voltages used when the analog RGB signals are digitally converted. Then, a reference voltage selection means 23 selects the reference voltage A/D conversion processing for the RGB signals by a prescribed selective pattern based on a mode specified by a mode switch means 24 to output it to the three-bit A/D conversion means A20 and the three-bit A/D conversion means B21. The three-bit A/D conversion means A20 and the three-bit A/D conversion means B21 digitally convert the inputted analog RGB signals based on the selected reference voltage to liquid-crystal-display them.
