Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract data from one or plural places on a computer screen through an easy operation and to print them in an attractive state on proper tape type recording paper which is suitably to be left as a memo, etc. SOLUTION: A printer 5 which prints on the tape type recording paper is built in a mouse 4. When the range of document information on the display screen 3a is specified with the mouse 4, the document information is temporarily stored in the memory of a computer main body 1. An operation picture is displayed on the display screen 3a through button operation of the mouse 4 and when printing is indicated in the operation picture, print information corresponding to the document information stored in the memory is transferred to the printer 5 and printed on the recording paper. The range specification of document information by the mouse 4 and the indication of temporary storage in the operation picture are repeated and the printing is indicated in the operation picture finally, so that the document information is selectively extracted form plural places on the display screen 3a and printed on the tape type recording paper in an attractive state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an input operation by automatically displaying the reading data of Chinese characters (KANJI) inputted by a user without necessity for the user to input the reading data of these KANJI characters again. SOLUTION: First of all, plural different KANJI characters and the reading data of these plural KANJI characters are respectively correspondently stored in a dictionary ROM 6 for KANJI/Japanese syllabary (KANA) conversion. When there is a handwriting input, that inputted character string is recognized by a handwriting recognition control program ROM 5 and the recognized character string is displayed on a display part 9. A CPU 1 detects whether any KANJI character is included in that character string or not and when KANJI character is detected, the KANJI character coincident with the KANJI character detected by the CPU 1 is searched out of the plural KANJI characters stored in the ROM 9. The reading data corresponding to the searched KANJI character are read out of the ROM 6 and displayed on reading data display means 9 and 10. Thus, the input of reading data due to the user can be omitted.

Then when an execution key 12 is operated when the external storage means 20 is not loaded, the program corresponding to the execution key is executed and when the execution key 12 is operated while the external storage means 20 is loaded, it is judged which of programs stored in the program storage means 16 and external storage means 20 is executed and the program is executed. Consequently, even when the external memory is loaded, and desired program stored in the internal memory or external memory can be run by utilizing the key start function.
