The present invention relates to a production method of an exhaust gas purification device, including the steps of supplying a solution containing a catalyst metal from a shower nozzle to an upper part of a honeycomb substrate, coating the honeycomb substrate with the solution, and firing the honeycomb substrate coated with the solution, wherein the shower nozzle has a plurality of discharge openings for discharging the solution and a guard which surrounds the plurality of discharge openings.

Provided is a technique that makes it possible to manufacture an exhaust gas-purifying catalyst offering a superior performance. A nozzle 130 is configured to discharge a fluid containing a raw material of a catalytic layer to a substrate having first and second end faces and provided with holes each extending from the first end face to the second end face. The nozzle 130 is provided with discharge ports DP each discharging the fluid toward the first end face of the substrate.
